Skyrim… is it actually perfect?

Skyrim has become the first “western” game ever to receive a perfect “40/40″ from the famously exacting and very well respected Famitsu review team.

Further stoking the now unstoppable Skyrim revolution this means its current successes in western markets is almost certain to be replicated in Asia and beyond.

Can anything hamper Skyrim’s rise to glory?

Erm… basically… no… it’s certainly doesn’t look like anything, other than the Dragonborn him / herself, stands a chance of competing!

For those who may be unaware Famitsu’s “out of 40″ is derived from the “out of 10″ scores of 4 separate reviewers. This makes it famously difficult for any game to recieve the “perfect” accolade. Indeed only 17 games have ever recieved this accolade;

  1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011)
  2. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (2011)
  3. Pokémon Black and White (2010)
  4. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (2010)
  5. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (2009)
  6. Bayonetta (2009)
  7. Monster Hunter Tri (2009)
  8. Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies (2009)
  9. 428: Fūsa Sareta Shibuya de (2008)
  10. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (2008)
  11. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008)
  12. Final Fantasy XII (2006)
  13. Nintendogs (2005)
  14. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (2003)
  15. Vagrant Story (2000)
  16. Soulcalibur (1999)
  17. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998)

Now, can you possibly risk not playing it? Seriously? ;-)
