Part blast from the past, part “just one more go”, this top down driving game pushes all the right buttons.
With “tilt-n-tap” controls that are surprisingly accurate and intuitive, an impressively large range of vehicle upgrades and more than a few “tracks” / environments to race in, not forgetting myriad different hazards and foes, from clouds which realistically obscure your view to attack helicopters of various sorts and the good old traffic police this game really keeps you guessing every time you play.
The necessity to upgrade your vehicle to enable you to progress keeps you playing, earning and improving your vehicle and these decisions reap instant rewards in how far you progress in each stage. Amazingly there are even multiple strategy / play types you can choose from using these upgrades. Will you be a bulldozer, destroyer or avoider? The choice is yours.
Putting many a paid app to shame Armored Drive is a must have for all Windows Phone 7 owners!
