Heavy losses for a heavy hitter… but what next for Nintendo?
Sad news today as we discover that Nintendo has lost very close to $1 Billion (currently $928 million) in the first half of 2011.
This is both worse than they themselves had predicted and perhaps all the more shocking when we consider their continued drop in price of the 3DS.
Nintendo now have even more riding on the Wii U than previously, something which will make a lot of investors nervous as support for the new platform is still a little thin on the ground.
With a little good luck, and improved marketing, the Wii U could be a huge boost to Nintendo, but they need to get impressive game lists out ASAP to show the key developers are supporting the platform.
2012 could well be a key year for Nintendo, let’s all cross our fingers and send the grandfather of wide appeal gaming our very best vibes people!
